Career Opportunity at CAUBO – Position of Executive Director

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Canadian Association of University Business Officers (CAUBO) is a growing and vibrant organization which responds to the ever-changing landscape of Canadian universities.  CAUBO is seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead CAUBO during its next phase of growth and development.  Strong leadership will be key in implementing and achieving the objectives of a new strategic plan that will guide the Association to 2015. An experienced university administrator, you will work closely with individual university members, CAUBO’s eight national committees of volunteers, and CAUBO service delivery professionals.  Through interactions with members and active participation in regional, national, and international events, you will provide direction and support in identifying and analyzing issues of concern to Canada’s universities.  You will lead a team of analytical staff and volunteers.

Your leadership role is supported by an experienced Associate Director who manages the day-to-day operations of the Association, analytical and communications staff, and third party service providers. Demonstrated leadership and progressive thinking are essential qualities for the position, as is an extensive knowledge of the university environment at a senior level.  Your compelling communication skills enable you to manage a diverse group of professionals.  Bilingualism is an asset.

Created in 1937, the Canadian Association of University Business Officers (CAUBO) is the eminent association for university administrators in Canada.  It serves as an umbrella organization for a number of university professional groups, including facilities management, financial management, human resources management, environmental health and safety, internal audit, national procurement, investment and treasury, and taxes.

Applications should be submitted in confidence to the Chair of the Board, Patricia Hibbitts, through lseguin@caubo.ca no later than April 15, 2010.
