Committee Information: Mission Statement

Terms of Reference

Mandate

The main role of the Taxes Committee is to document tax issues relating to university business and carry out one of the CAUBO's objectives "To develop a secure and accessible repository of relevant information, working documents and effective practices" with respect to income and commodity taxes.

Responsibilities and Activities

2.1 Monitor tax changes which affect universities and recommend any lobbying activities.

2.2. Communicate Revenue Canada Rulings and other tax-related developments of interest to universities and colleges through publication of articles in the University Manager, and CURRENT Releases in the CAUBO Income Tax Guide

2.3 Assist in the developing and editing of the CAUBO Income Tax Guide and GST Guide.

2.4 Assist the CAUBO office in answering queries and keeping track of rulings, district office practices, etc.

2.5 Provide advice and assistance regarding the program of the annual CAUBO Conference, as required.
