Memorial University established a health and safety unit in 2008 and it was included under the umbrella of the Chief Risk Officer (OCRO) in 2014. In 2018, Memorial conducted a health and safety climate assessment to examine changes since a previous 2013 safety survey. 1041 respondents (25.9% of employees) participated.
